Who We Are
Dog's Best Friend Adoption Center is a private, in home, all breed adoption agency, specializing in pregnant dogs. WE EXIST SOLELY ON THE KINDNESS OF YOUR DONATIONS AND ADOPTIONS. (AT TIMES, THIS SITE MIGHT NOT SHOW ALL OF THE DOGS WE HAVE AT OUR RESCUE CENTER, SO PLEASE, CONTACT US TO BE SURE OF WHAT IS, OR SOON WILL BE AVAILABLE!) We pride ourselves on being an HOLISTIC based center and feed only holistic foods and vitamins to all of our dogs. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered (if old enough), up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm and lyme tested (and on preventative, once old enough), and free of fleas and ticks. We temperament test all of our dogs and they are all suitable for different family situations. All of our dogs are well mannered, know some basic commands, and are housebroken within a week of being with us (if old enough). All of our dogs are in our family/home situation at this time, not in kennels or crates (although most are crate trained) , and are worked with daily. All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats. Adoption donations vary with age, breed, and training of the dog. Many of our dogs are micro-chipped (tiny dogs and puppies are not chipped). Dog's Best Friend dogs truly make wonderful family pets. Please note that many of our dogs are fostered just across the border into PA.

Adopting a friend
Dog's Best Friend utilizes an application screening process. All applicants must provide vet references, personal references and a home visit. We strive to place the right dog into the right home. Some adoption matches may happen quickly, while others may take some time. We hope you understand and are willing to wait for the perfect dog. (We do not place puppies or small dogs with kids under 6 and reserve the right to match who WE FEEL would be the best homes for our dogs) Also note that we arrange our visiting hours around your schedule, as this is a private, in home facility. If you have any trouble sending us an email, or have not heard back from us within 24 hours, please, CONTACT US AGAIN! We all know how emails can be at times!
